Andy Cutting

Andy Cutting

Twice winner of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Musician Of the Year, Andy Cutting has worked with everyone from Chris Wood to June Tabor, Sting to the Who.  A soulful and technically outstanding melodeon practitioner with an ear for a fine tune, many of his tunes have been purloined along the way with some considered contemporary classics.  He is a warm and emotive performer, modestly engaging his audiences with his self-deprecating wit (and the odd recipe or two!) and then flooring them with downright staggering musicianship. There are few melodeon players who put so much feeling into their playing, whether it is a set of dance tunes, or accompaniment to a slow English ballad.

A Night Off With Peggy & PJ

Two principal and influential figures on the British folk-roots scene, who've seen action inFairport Convention, Jethro Tull and many more, join forces to present favourite songs, familiar songs, tall tales, some nifty instrumentals and a few surprises in a feelgood and good-humoured evening.  Says PJ, "there will be a mix of my songs from, some Little Johnny England material, some of Peggy's songs and tunes from various sources, and a smattering of Sandy Denny and Fairport. We might even throw in a bit of Jethro Tull. Alongside this original material, we hope to play some cover versions of our favourite songs down the years.  Add Peggy's skills as a raconteur and one or two of my duff jokes and it should be an idiosyncratic, rocking evening of virtuoso fun for nearly all the family!”
